The Himalayan nation of Nepal offers majestic landscapes and time-honoured traditions, a place where colourful prayer flags fly in the breeze, tigers and rhinos wander in subtropical jungles, and UNESCO World Heritage Site Buddhist stupas and Hindu temples attract endless streams of pilgrims. Nepal is also one of the world’s most interesting cultural travel destinations, with spectacular traditional architecture, regular religious festivals and ceremonies, colourful crafts and food markets, and villages among rice paddies located within Kathmandu.

The tours include visiting lively Buddhist and Hindu temples; exploring historical architecture, busy markets and artisans’ workshops in the UNESCO World Heritage-listed monument zones around the Kathmandu Valley; a scenic flight to see Mount Everest; looking for tigers, one-horned rhinos and unusual birds during wildlife safaris in the subtropical forest and grasslands of beautiful Chitwan National Park; interacting with elephants; seeing the snow- capped peaks of the Himalaya mountains and experiencing traditional rural lifestyle in villages during walks around Pokhara; and relaxing and rejuvenating with yoga, meditation, spa treatments and incredible views at an upscale Nepalese resort in the hills of Dhulikhel.

Nepal has a skyline dominated by some of the world’s highest mountain peaks. There is something magical and surreal about this country that has to be seen to be understood. At times both modern and ancient and filled with Himalayan allure and traditions, there is also a lush spread of jungles and forested plains, which are home to majestic tigers and one-horned rhinoceros. Draped majestically along the greatest heights of the Himalayas, Nepal is where the ice-cold of the mountains meets the steamy heat of the Indian plains. It’s a land of yaks and yetis, stupas (religious monuments), sherpas (Tibetan ethnic people). and some of the best trekking on earth. BBC Travel lists Nepal as one of the 50 places to visit before you die.

Best Time To Visit

The best time to visit Nepal is during the months of October and November. The monsoon is just over, which creates magnificent green and lush vegetation as well as clean air – perfect to explore the country in all its beauty. This means, of course, that the view of the Himalaya peak at this time is almost perfect. Even the temperatures are still very mild.

  • Main season: February-April, mid-September-November
  • Low season: May
  • Not recommended: June-mid September
